On Lake Protection
Did you know that a tiny fragment of any one of eleven invasive aquatic plants could take root in the muddy lake bottom of Toddy Pond and within just a few years cover the entire pond up to a depth of 25 feet? The result would make it impossible to boat, swim or fish, and severely impact property values around the Pond.
TPA is seeking volunteers for two positions that are designed to protect Toddy from invasive plants.

The IPP role is designed to inspect the shorefront along the lake for plant life and to inspect species. Each volunteer will be assigned a section of the lake, will be provided training and tools will be supplied.

Toddy Pond has both paid and volunteer inspectors inspecting boats and providing information to boaters from early May through early September. This statewide DEP program is supported by Toddy Pond Association as well as private and public funding. CBI volunteers will be stationed at the Toddy Pond Boat Launch to inspect boats for invasive plants.
